I don't have the time to do two leagues anymore and once I get out West I will have even less time as I plan on trying to go back to work. When this site went up I thought most of the EA guys wanted this. Obviously they didn't. I thought at that point, this site may take over as this is what everybody wanted. I need to focus on the rest of my life, getting the move done and attempted to get back to work. I will quick sim and post the final standings and everything else. Hope to see everybody continuing on www.eanhlsimulation.proboards.com/index.cgi? I will be keeping that going until it is totally dead. Good Luck and Sorry for the bad news. Jmcook

k so you made this site for EA but more people came in, cause i am not on ea, but what about us? I looked at ea and didn't like it, but I really like this site. Feels more modern like a real site. What about us?

I still say simming half as much on both sites would affect nothing on your end time-wise, but it would keep both sites happy, healthy, and strong. Especially if we opened the flood-gates and let people trade fair trades with the open teams. I think that would boost this site HUGE.

I also suggested quite often to do a mass-email on EA to get more members, we did our part and mass e-mails from our older sites and brought in five members who have literally not been on sim sites in well over a year and they have been here often in the last two weeks. It's sometimes difficult for those teams to jump right in, so I figured after a season they'd get their shot with the off-season and whatnot.
I still never received an e-mail from EA, so I'm assuming that was never conducted. So, in my opinion, the large part of this site dying is due to the constant public criticism and outcry over problems that never existed and the unwillingness to even try.
Loved this site. Enjoyed the conversations. We have a great idea in the works, and we'll make it happen soon.

The mass email was a set-up problem with EA. He did send them out and we got a couple new members from them. It was nothing jmcook did. It has to do with Ea's site settings, and forcing people to activate their account. On ManNHL, we made people have to activate their account to log in, to avoid fake emails. They do not do that on EA, but what that means is ONLY activated accounts receive Emails. No one on EA activated their account, so no one receives emails.

And yes, Phoenix, as Jackets said, if you want to stay tuned for a bit, we have a REALLY unique plan for a new site coming very soon.
It's nothing like what is out there now, and it's designed so that if 5-7 teams are open, it's actually GOOD for the site. No more site-deaths due to open teams.
AND it won;t matter if a team is stacked, if that is a concern too, Phoenix, haha. It will be run entirely different. Very excited for that!
Like, 9 different people have already called it the best idea for a sim site in years. We've got about 6 people who are just waiting to jump on there, and we have only told 5 people about the site, hahaha.

Please like Avs comment ^ if you are interested in that site, so we know to contact you when it opens (I would put an estimated time of about two weeks-ish?) PM Myself or AVS if you are interested with your e-mail and we'll e-mail you once it's up. Then you can check it out and see if you like the idea and then make the choice to stick around or not.

If 4 teams aren't stacked as soon as I sign up, I will check it out. But I really like this site and I just started working on my master plan.

Same. I was really building through the auctions, which dropped to a player no higher than an 81 that was available, but yeah it was in progress, just didn't get there.

Yes, I had to activate my account just to send the Mass email out, but it did go out eventually. I apoligize Phoenix, I had thought this site was in bid demand. Unfortunatly we have about 10 empty teams and another 10 that aren't really here. I can't continue like this

Just my luck, too. First weekend I had off in over a month to get a few small things on here in order, and its closing.

Unfortunatly we have about 10 empty teams and another 10 that aren't really here. I can't continue like this We have 6 open teams. I still think just letting people trade with the open teams would get things booming BIG TIME. Why not just try that, see how it plays out, then if there is still no trading, assassinate the site then? Instead of quick-simming (which is boring) I had thought this site was in bid demand. The site was in big demand until the "haves" at EA realized it's not easy to build a team from an even playing field and left.

The site was in big demand until the "haves" at EA realized it's not easy to build a team from an even playing field and left. Are you talking about EA sports or the other sim site? I think you mean the other sim site, right? I don't know if your reasons there are true but when i looked at the site there were some really stacked teams and other garbage teams. It was definitely a reason I didn't stay. I have been on too many sites like that where the stacked teams never trade and I am left with crap. Finally got a high 90 player with this site too. Damn it, damn it, damn it!

The Jets on EA are in the Stanley Cup Finals and they are available. They don't have the greatest team, but Joseph is standing on his head and Mark Savard and Sven Bartschi are playing huge for him.
