Today was all hyped up by EA because they were annoucing the awesome, exciting, $60-dollar-worthy new features of NHL 14. www.easports.com/nhl/news/article/vision-of-hockey-nhl-14I read the changes, watched the trailer, and am INCREDIBLY unimpressed. Half of the trailer they showed is recycled animation, from previous games! The rest is just some bodychecking. Curious what, if any, legends are in the game. BRING IN BURE!!! Otherwise, BORING. Alas, everyone will still flock off and buy this game in drones. I hate EA. Hopefully this gets better and actually does something worthwhile between now and its release, cause changing the body checking slightly should not warrant a brand new, $60 purchase.

Looks good. Very excited for the changes to the Be-A-Pro... will make it worth playing. They are finally making the fighting better, which is awesome.
New hitting will be nice, that's the main thing game play feature that pissed me off. Tweaks to the skating and goalies will be good as well.
They are on a 6 month cycle, and it looks good so far. Very excited.
The game play they showed isn't from old games, not sure where you got that from.

It's EXACTLY the same walkout as NHL 13 (and NHL 10 for that matter). The hits look a bit different, because they look more like knee-on-knee action than hits.
The Be a Pro stuff sounds STUPID. Why would my relationship with fans and the team affect my skill on the ice?

Walkout? Like how they walk out onto the ice? Did you expect them to crab walk onto the ice or?
Hits look more real....
Interacting with fans and team mates will earn you more XP (not a whole lot)
I'm thinking it will be like NBA 2k13, if you haven't played it, you won't know what I mean... but it makes Be A Pro 100% better.
BAP is very stale... a much needed revamp was due, and now we get it.
This isn't ALL they are adding, they usually announce more later, likely 1 more big thing

I like the fightning aspect of it and how Zdeno Chara isn't face to face with Martin St. Louis now.

I don't play, but I do resent recycled graphics - esp if they are flawed ones to begin with. Cup scenes should always be new ect.

A little bit related, a bit unrelated.
Is it safe to assume we have all had that annoying glitch in NHL 13, where your guy hits the goalie, but they don't call a penalty UNLESS you score. Then suddenly they call an interference penalty?
I constantly have to wait on my shot for the goalie to reset after my stupid computer teammate drives into him so I don;t get a penalty. I really hope this glitch is fixed in NHL 14.

that's not a glitch... in real life contact is made with goalies that isn't called right away. If a goal is scored, then it is waived off.
The only problem there is that it shouldn't be a penalty after you "score".
On an unrelated note, with all the bitching you do about EA, you pretty much buy every game. Also, you say they don't do enough on a game to game basis, however EA NHL do more then the average sports gaming franchise.

The only problem there is that it shouldn't be a penalty after you "score".Exactly. That makes it a glitch. Give me a penalty, or waive off the goal. Don't wait for me to score, THEN give me a penalty. On an unrelated note, with all the bitching you do about EA, you pretty much buy every game. I did not buy NHL 13, a friend got it for free, and traded me 5 ManMMA points for it. I would not have paid money for NHL 13, nor will I be paying money for NHL 14. Not until another big change comes along, or it's basically free. Also, you say they don't do enough on a game to game basis, however EA NHL do more then the average sports gaming franchise. I'd love to see your source on this claim. Also, EA MAKES the average sports game, since they monopolize most franchises. Thus, your claim is invalid anyways. Still like to see those sources though. Maybe they will make me change my mind (har har har)

When did I say there was no glitches? EA fixed that and even made fun of it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c071yZBOfQIt was patched within like a week, and rarely happened anyway until people started to try and make it happen. Those are things that are in every game. If you expect a game to have 0 glitches in order to meet your "standards" you naive. EVERY game has glitches. EA Sports is a very good company (multi-billion I believe. They couldn't give a shit if you like them or not. They can make a hell of a lot better game then you could.
