What is the best game you ever played? Why did you feel that way about the game?
Here's one for me:
I never heard of Resident Evil until the 3rd one came out. My bro grabbed it for me for PS3. I was like 13 when I got it. I played it for about ten hours straight then had to go ref a soccer game. Upon biking to the game, I was listening to music on my headphones and became paranoid that zombies would jump out and attack me. It's retarded, but that was the first video game I can recall that truly got to me. Lots of fun though.

I am answering based on the way I felt when I first loved them, so its not really a "these are my current favs" or anything.
Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Still the best game ever? Close. Dick Tracy (NES) - Free roaming around the city was AMAZING at the time! NHL '96 (SNES) - TRADES!!! SimCity (SNES) - BURN City! Then rebuild. Then BURN. NHL '98 (PS) - Graphics+COLORADO AVALANCHE! Plus, when you made yourself, your NAME was on the gameplay screen! Metal Gear Solid (PS) - Tactical Espionage Action...where I run-and-gun'ed through the whole game. Final Fantasy VIII (PS) - May very well still be my all-time favourite game. Just...awesome. The Sims (PC) - burning people to death NHL 2001 (PS2) - HUGE graphics boost here. Players looked like the players for the first time Final Fantasy X (PS2) - once I got into it, loved it more than 8. Grand Theft Auto 3 - spent hours free roam killing and stealing and all other bad things. The Movies (PC) - making awesome studios and movies. NHL '09 (PS3) - The be a Pro mode Oblivion (PS3) - Spend over 100 hours on this game and barely touched the main story quest. The Sims 3 (PC) - building awesome houses and careers God of War (PS3) - I came to this party late. I liked it. Rock Band (PS3) - This fad still lives on for me. I play this from time to time and still love it. Have about 150 downloaded songs. UFC Undisputed 2009 - headkick KO wins were addictive! Dragon Age: Origins (PS3) - the origin stories make this game unique and AWESOME. UFC Undisputed 3 - PRIDE!!! Fallout 3 (PS3) - best intro-tutorial I've played to start a game Infamous 2 (PS3) - I love that creepy blue chick. Plus, it just rocked.

I thought video games were kinda sad and something I just couldn't ever be 'good' enough to play as I HATE button mashing and have the reaction time of a retarded one finned dolphin. But then I was introduced to Final Fantasy 8- I had no idea video games had the same type of story lines I was reading in novels, or that I'd care so much. But of course, anyone who's played video games knows just how wrong I was. Even now, when I have little or no time for them, I look forward to a time when I can sit for hours on end completely immersed in a game.
